The family of the controversial National Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Amina Zakari, has reacted to the controversy trailing her new appointment as Head of Collation Centre for the 2019 presidential election.

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Monday nullified the direct and indirect primary elections allegedly conducted by two factions of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State. According to Punch, Justice Kolawole Omotosho who delivered judgment on the matter said both factions of the APC acted in disrespect of a pending suit before a Port Harcourt High Court.

The Federal Government has pleaded with striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to show mercy on students by calling off their strike.
