Buhari Goes Tough On MDAs, Direct Ministers To Prepare Monthly Performance Indicators

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed Ministers to design monthly performance indicators for Parastatals and Agencies under their various ministries.

Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, the Minister for Communications disclosed this in his office while receiving a delegation from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), an establishment under his Ministry.

 

The delegation led by Mr. Kashifu Inuwa, the Director-General of NITDA, who was on a courtesy visit to the minister. Pantami said Mr. President issued the directive during the ministerial retreat and re-echoed during their inauguration.

 

Mr. Pantami revealed he is ready to implement Mr. President's directive to the latter; he charged the workers to be more committed to their work, develop themselves and contribute their quota to the overall development of Nigeria.

 

In his statement, “As instructed by the President, we will come up with the key performance indicators for agencies under our ministries which will be evaluated monthly.

 

The minister enjoined the workers to be more committed to actualizing Mr. President's commitment to developing Nigeria through the deployment of Information Technology.

 

He promised that the ministry policies for attaining the said goal is underway and soon will be handed over to the agency for implementation.

 

Having been the immediate past director-general of the agency, he is acquainted with the development and will be ever ready to approve action-plan of the agency where needed the minister added. (NAN)
