The Presidential investigative panel headed by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and mandated to investigate corruption allegations leveled against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the former Director General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) may have submitted its reports to the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Dailytrust exclusively claimed that the Committee recommended immediate sack of the two officials, after they had separately appeared before the Committee to in an attempt to assert their innocence.
“The report of the investigations is ready. The two suspended officials were recommended for total disengagement and replacement. It is clearly stated in the report that they should not be brought back to their positions. They are to be disengaged as recommended"

The President, Muhammadu Buhari had in April 2017 ordered the suspension of Babachir and Oke. Babachir was investigated for allegedly awarding millions of naira contracts to Global Vision Limited, a company in which he had interest. The contracts were awarded under Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
Oke was however probed for alleged 443.4 million operations funds recovered from an apartment in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos state. Oke claimed that the money belonged to his agency and was approved by the last administration for covert operations.
The Senate Adhoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North East headed by Sen. Shehu Sani had earlier found Babachir guilty of complicity in a N200 million grass-cutting contract to clear invasive plants under PINE.
