All Progressive Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter announced new dates for its primaries ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Election in the State. This was revealed by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) in a press statement, say the Local Government election is scheduled to commence April 2023.

The Party made a slight adjustment in the initial scheduled for all Chairman and Councillorship aspirants of the party (APC) in the State.

Publicity Secretary of the party, Olawale Sadare, in a statement made available to the press, said that the primary earlier scheduled for this Thursday will now be held on Friday (August 25) and Monday (August 28) respectively.

The statement partly reads, “The schedule of the party primary will now be split into two and we have picked this Friday to conduct the exercise in all the Wards and LGAs in both Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial districts, while the turn of the 99 Wards and nine local government councils in Oyo South will be Monday next week.

“Reports submitted by the screening committees established that we have competent aspirants in all the 351 Wards and 33 LGAs; this indicates that APC remains the most popular party in the State,” he said.
