President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to find a lasting solution to Nigeria’s security challenges adding that his administration fully understands the urgency of Nigeria’s security issues.

The President on Monday, February 12 held a meeting with security chiefs and some top government officials at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The meeting also had in attendance the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Using his official Twitter handle, @MBuhari, after the meeting, the President said he is fully aware of the seriousness and urgency which Nigeria’s security needs.

He said, however, that lasting solution which will not only earn the confidence of Nigerians but also stand the test of time will be implemented.

The meeting with security chiefs had in attendance Chief of Staff Mallam Abba Kyari, National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), Minister of Defence Brigadier General Mansur Dan Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Interior Lt Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau were present at the meeting.



DG DSS Lawan Daura, Director General NIA, Ahmed Rufai, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, Representatives of Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Training and Operation, Major General A. Mohammed, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar were also present at the meeting.
