A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has done very well and deserves a second term if he wants to re-contest, contrary to the recent advised offered by former heads of state, Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida.

The Federal Government has commenced the payment of N5,000 monthly stipend to at least 10,000 poorest and vulnerable persons in Kaduna State, as part of its promised Social Intervention Programme (SIP). Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in the state, Mr Hassan Mahmud, announced this on Friday while flagging off the disbursement of the stipend to beneficiaries in Kaduna.

The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha on Thursday insisted that his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu must succeed him in 2019 contrary to efforts by some stakeholders in the state to frustrate the quest. The Governor made his position known in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo.

Concerned Association For Transparency and National Advancement, CATNA says it would complement the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in the eradication of Corruption in Nigeria. The Chairman Board of Trustee of CATNA, Tukur Idris Amir made this known in Abuja while addressing Journalists on the recently released high ranking report on Nigeria’s anti-corruption fight by Transparency International.

Despite Buhari’s Visit, Suspected Herdsmen Kill Five In Plateau

Five Persons including three siblings of a family have been confirmed dead in an attack by suspected herdsmen in Nzharuvo Village of Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently on a two-day official visit to Plateau State where on Thursday he attended a Town Hall Meeting and launched the state’s strategic ‘road map to peace.’

The House of Representative has mandated will review, 22 bills yet to be assented to by the President Buhari including to the controversial Peace Corps Bill, before deciding what to do next. The 22 bills (including the Peace Corps Bill) were either rejected or not responded to by the president.
