President Muhammdu Buhari media support Group identified as North Central Media Support Group for Buhari (NCMSGB) has described alleged plot by the National Assembly to impeach the president as a huge joke. According to Dailytrust, the National Chairman of the group, Hon. Dasuki Salihu Nakande in a statement issued to newsmen warned that danger lies ahead of any shady plan to impeach the president and therefore advised the legislators to instead do things that would move the country forward.

“They should not try it because we know a lot of them will find it very difficult to get back to their constituencies,” it said.

The group also berated the National Assembly for claiming that the ongoing anti-corruption war of the president was selective. The statement said the President strictly adheres to the rule of law and therefore would not engage in selective fight.

“It is a known fact that the president is a strict adherent of the rule of law, and his sincerity in the fight against corruption is not selective."

Taking a swipe at the Senate President, the group said he should respond to invitation by security agencies to demonstrate his respect for the law.

“Accountability also entails responding to invitation by security organs of government to respond to issues that bother on alleged criminality, which members of the legislature are shunning away from. Such refusal is not only ridiculing our nation’s democracy, but ruining it."
