President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday arrived Abuja from his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, where he had spent the Eid-El-Kabir holidays. During his time at Daura, Buhari met behind closed doors with the President of neighboring Niger Republic, Muhammadou Issoufou on Monday.
He earlier played host to NYSC members serving in Katsina where he reiterated the need to sustain the country’s unity and also members of his old boys and an association of farmers.
Buhari’s delayed return to Abuja had forced the presidency to call off the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, although the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed blamed the cancellation on the inability of ministers to adequately prepare the documents for the meeting.
