Monday, May 29 has been declared a public holiday by the Federal Government in commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day.

The declaration was announced today by the Ministry of Interior.

 

The Minister of Interiror, Abdulrahman Dambazau, in a statement signed by the Director in-charge of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Muhammadu Maccido, congratulated Nigerians for witnessing yet another Democracy Day, which marks the second year anniversary of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government.


The statement gave assurances of “government’s continued efforts towards guaranteeing security, revitalizing the economy and tackling corruption, which are the three main focused areas of this administration.”

 

The Minister also noted the country’s gradual recovery from economic recession and enjoined Nigerians to sustain their support for Government.
