The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Sunday airlifted the recently released Dapchi schoolgirls back to Maiduguri from where they would be transported to Dapchi, under armed air escort, to reunite with their families. The schoolgirls who were ferried on board C-130 Hercules Aircraft were in Abuja to meet President Muhammadu Buhari and then undergo medical and psychological checks.
Dailytrust reports that all the girls, including a boy and 3 teachers from the girls’ school were seen boarding the aircraft.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Olatunbo Adesanya has since confirmed the departure of the girls.
It would be recalled that after their release by the Boko Haram Terrorists on Wednesday, 21 March 2018, the girls were airlifted aboard a NAF C-130 Hercules Aircraft to Abuja, where senior Government officials received them.
