The second edition of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL)-LaLiga coaching clinic for clubs’ youth coaches officially kicked off in Abuja on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

The coaching clinic is designed to train youth coaches on how to properly develop and manage young talents using the LaLiga philosophy and methodology.

The five-day clinic with about 40 youth coaches in attendance is holding at the National Stadium, Abuja from February 7 to 11, 2018 and it officially precedes the NPFL Under-15 Promises Tournament which is scheduled to start in April across different locations in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s National Women’s Basketball team, D’Tigress, has been drawn in Group B alongside Turkey, Argentina and Australia for the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Tenerife in Spain. The reigning African champions, aftering conquering Africa in style in Bamako in 2017, will hope to cause some stir at the global stage scheduled for later this year.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said today that Africa could host the Olympics for the first time as early as 2032. The committee is currently meeting many African countries to consider the feasibility of such a proposition. Bach didn’t mention any African country but stated that the IOC hopes to elect a host city at the next IOC session in October 2018 in Buenos Aires.
