LeBron James on Tuesday night becomes the NBA youngest player to reach 30,000 regular season points surpassing Kobe Bryant record. Heading into last night's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs, LeBron James needed seven points to reach the 30,000 career point milestone.

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has officially put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Rohr was appointed Super Eagles head Coach in August 2016 and has steered the team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, winning four games and drawing one in a qualifying group that also had Zambia, African champions Cameroon and Algeria. His previous deal will run out in July 2018.

Pundit and Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has questioned the club's decision to facilitate the signing of Henrik Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, players that have not been previously linked with the club. In a chat with Sky Sports, Wright said Arsenal are being forced into signing Mkhitaryan and expressed anxiety that the player would deliver because of his current state of mind.

Indiana Pacers’ Nigerian guard, Victor Oladipo, has been named as a reserve player for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game to be held on February 18 in Los Angeles.

It’s the first time the former Oklahoma City Thunders star, Oladipo will be making the shortlist and he is joined by the pair of Bradley Beal and John Wall from the Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry, Kevin Love from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kristaps Porzingisfrom the New York Knicks and Al Horford of the Boston Celtics.

Oladipo who has made 42 NBA appearances averaging 24.2 points 5.2 rebounds 3.9 assists and 1.9 steals so far this term, becomes the 13th Pacers player to be named in the NBA All-Star team.

The two Koreas will field a combined women’s ice hockey team and march together under one flag at next month’s Winter Olympics in the South, Seoul said on Wednesday, after a new round of talks amid a thaw in cross-border ties.

North and South Korea have been talking since last week - for the first time in more than two years - about the Olympics, offering a respite from a months-long standoff over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs, although Japan urged caution over the North’s “charm offensive”.

The two Koreas will compete as a unified team in the Olympics for the first time, though they have joined forces at other international sports events before.

North Korea will send a delegation of more than 400, including 230 cheerleaders, 140 artists and 30 Taekwondo players for a demonstration, a joint press statement released by Seoul’s Unification Ministry said, adding the precise number of athletes will be hammered out after discussions with the IOC scheduled for later this week.
