Former Super Eagles' skipper, Kanu Nwankwo has offered to convince former Super Eagles' shot stopper, Vincent Enyeama to come out of retirement and assist the country in qualifying for the 2018 world cup billed to be hosted by Russia. Kanu stated that his decision to intervene in the matter was because of the goal keeper crisis rocking the team currently, as Super Eagles' number one goal keeper, Carl Ikeme battles acute leukaemia.

Ex-international and former Golden Eaglets Star, Nwankwo Kanu has described Nigeria’s absence at this year's edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament billed for India in October, as a sad occurrence for a country that has won the tournament for a record five times.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick and the head Coach of Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr on Friday visited Super Eagles shot stopper, Carl Ikeme in London. Ikeme was recently diagnosed of Leukemia and has since been receiving medical attention in London.

Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has denied reports that he has concluded plans to resign his appointment before the forthcoming crucial encounter with the Indomitable Lion of Cameroon. Rohr who denied the report during an interview with ESPN said “I have seen the reports and there is no truth to this.”
