African young stars Tammy Abraham (Nigerian), Ahmed Elmohamady (Egypt), Albert Adomah (Ghana) and Jonathan Kodjia (Ivory Coast) have helped Aston Villa secure their promotion to the Premier League next season after defeating Frank Lampard's Derby County 2-1 in Monday’s Championship play-off final.

After a three-year absence in the EPL, Aston Villa will return to the League having beaten Derby County with goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn. Although Derby piled the pressure on towards the end and got a consolation through a shot from Martin Waghorn which will not be enough to take the games to Extra Time.

Villa who finished 5th in the championship with just two points ahead of Derby will be among the top 7 club sides to have played more games in the EPL (924) having secured promotion, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man United and Spurs all tied at 1038 games.
