The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is reconsidering the use of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, following strings of poor results by the national team, the Super Eagles.

The Eagles have continued to record series of bad result in the stadium with a 2-2 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa denying the country participation at the Last AFCON tournament.

Last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to the South Africans may have proved the proverbial last straw.

Following the development, the 2018 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon in which come up in August, could be moved away from the Uyo stadium with the National Stadium Abuja and the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt being considered to host the match.
