Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee in the region of £60m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sports. According to the report, Arsenal had a bid in excess of £50m rejected, with Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc saying they would only let the 28-year-old go if their demands were met. It is understood they are holding out for £60m.

Manchester City Manager, Pep Guardiola is said to have sanctioned a £150million move for Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard, after the club missed out of securing the services of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. City had refused to meet Sanchez's wage demand believed to be in the region of £400,000-a-week, making him the highest earner in the history of the English Premier League.

Arsenal’s Nigerian midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, has returned to Netherlands second-tier club, MVV Maastricht, on loan after struggling for playing time on loan at top flight side VVV Venlo. Maastricht confirmed Nwakali’s loan move on their official website on Wednesday. After his loan to Maastricht during the 2016/2017 season, Nwakali was sent out on another loan move by Arsenal this time to newly promoted Dutch first division side VVV Venlo for the 2017/2018 campaign.

Widespread reports suggest that Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer happy at Madrid due to alleged refusal by club executives to offer him improved contract that would make him and Lionel Messi earn the same wage. Madrid are said to be reluctant to improve his contract because of age and nose-diving performance which has seen him score only six La Liga goals this term.

Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar has joined Dutch club NAC Breda on a six-month loan deal from Italian club AS Roma with an option of another year. Sadiq spent the first half of the season on loan at Torino but struggled to impress, making only three appearances. “In this winter transfer period, we wanted to add scoring power and increase the competition in the front, which was very successful with the arrival of Umar and Mitchell,” NAC Breda’s technical director, Hans Smulders, told the club’s official website.

Amidst growing interest from Real Madrid, Belgian winger Eden Hazard has claimed that he will sit down to discuss his future with the Chelsea hierarchy during the summer, as uncertainty around his future in west London continues to grow. Hazard who had refused to elongate his stay at Stanford Bridge was reported to be doing so in order to accept a deal from Real Madrid if they come knocking.

Dutch Eerste Divisie club MVV Maastricht are in talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for Nigeria U20 captain Kelechi Nwakali, according to his brother and representative Allwell Nwakali.

Porto had explored the possibility of signing the attacking midfielder on a permanent basis in the January transfer window but have not had fruitful discussions with the Gunners.

Arsenal are set to recall Nwakali from VVV Venlo as they are unhappy over his lack of first-team opportunities, with only three starts to his name in the Eredivisie since he completed his move.
