Chelsea FC has beaten both Manchester clubs (United and City) to sign 16-year-old Ajax wonder kid Daishawn Redan, he’ll be joining the Cobham Academy on July 1.Redan is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters to come through the ranks at Ajax in recent times.

It was gathered that several top European Clubs have been keeping tabs on the teen sensation including Manchester United, City and RB Leipzig were all in the market for Redan but he decided to head to the Cobham academy.
The teen sensation has joined from the Dutch club and has signed his contract according to reports in Holland and monitored by vigil360.

According to Dutch website Voetbalzone, Redan has put pen to paper on his contract and will join the club from July 1.

The West London club is poised to announce signing of Willy Caballero on a free from Manchester City in the coming days, with the keeper deputising for Thibaut Courtois.
Ajax announced back in March that Redan would leave the club at the end of the season.

Ajax have expressed huge disappointment that Redan has left the Amsterdam giants having developed him to this point.

But after turning 16 in February, he is free to choose his next club and Chelsea’s academy have been one of the most successful in Europe in recent years, winning the Uefa Youth League in 2015 and 2016.
Yet their record of bringing players into the first team has come under scrutiny, with few players making an impact having come through the Cobham academy.

Ajax head of youth Said Ouaali said: “We have mapped out a path for him and there have been discussions with him and his management.
‘That there is no agreement at the last moment is extremely regrettable, obviously they have put something else on their minds.

‘We have made every effort to maintain a great talent as Daishawn for the club but at some point it stops.’
