The Executive Vice President Commercial at Etihad Airways, Mohammad Al Bulooki says the airline has offered one night free accommodation in Abu Dhabi to all guests travelling in Economy Class from destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, and stopping over in the nation’s capital. Speaking recently to newsmen, he said the offer is valid from May 1, 2018 until 15 September 2018 and the travel period is until 30 September 2018.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said it remitted N49.7 billion to the Federal Government in the first quarter of 2018. Mr Tony Ojobo, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs said in a statement on Thursday that the remittance was in compliance with the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2007 (FRA 2007).

The Federal Government says it has spent a total of N4.3tn to service the country’s debt obligations to local and foreign debtors between January 2015 and September 2017. According to reports obtained from the Budget Office on Friday, the figures are computed from the quarterly budget implementation report. From the report, it was gathered that the sum of N1.06tn was used to service debt in 2015.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday confirmed that MTN Group had finally commenced discussions with the commission on its proposed 500 million dollars Initial Public Offering (IPO). According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) a senior management staff of SEC who pleaded anonymity confirmed the development in Lagos noting that MTN had commenced discussion with the commission on the IPO.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday challenged the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to name the three persons he claimed to have stolen the sum of $3bn under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration. The party in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan also called on the Vice President to make the names available to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation and prosecution.

Nigeria has concluded plans to adopt African standards on sugar and sugar products as well as develop Nigeria Industrial standards for glucose and sucrose. The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) said this in a statement posted on its website. The statement said that a Technical Committee on sugar and sugar products met to consider the adoption of some African Standards under the auspices of African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) and the development of other Nigeria Industrial Standards.

The Naira on Tuesday appreciated to N360 to the dollar at the investors’ window, after depreciating for five consecutive days, according to reports. The Nigerian currency gained 54kobo to exchange at N360, stronger than N360.54 traded on Monday, while it was sold at N305.7 to the dollar at the CBN window.
