Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Harry Purwanto, has disclosed his country’s desire to increase Crude oil import from Nigeria Indonesia.
Purwanto stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, at the corporation’s headquarters, Abuja.
He stated that the Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, had directed Pertamina, the Indonesian Country’s National Oil Corporation to focus on Nigeria in its desire to meet the surging energy needs of his country.
Indonesia, which produces 900,000 barrels of crude oil per day, currently import about 18 percent of its additional crude from Nigeria and 28 per cent from Saudi Arabia to meet its 1.4million barrels per day consumption with 18 per cent supplies from Nigeria.
The latest move will see that country increase the volume of crude purchased from the Nigerian market.
