Miss Adeoye Adeola, 18-year old has emerged winner of the 2017 edition of miss polo Nigeria Beauty Pageant, which drew participants from all parts of the country, held at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, Port Harcourt.
The Lagos-born Miss Adeola beat Titilope Okonlawon, the first runner-up and Miss Stella Okuelege, second runner-up to emerge winner.
The newly crowned beauty queen is billed to represent Nigeria at the first ever Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant in 2018.
“I will work on my weakness, I will improve were necessary to ensure that at the end the crown will return with me to Nigeria.” said Adeola while speaking to newsmen after the event.
According to the president and founder of miss polo international, Mrs Ibife Alufohari "the idea was to encourage young girls on entrepreneurship and building of self confidence.” “In the next three years, I will like to see polo pageant become a global annual event”.
She also charged young Nigerian girls to develop their skills and refrain from seeking jobs but should become employers of labour.
