Singer Simisola Kosoko better known as Simi has opened up about her marriage and career in an interview with Tea with Taypod. The 35-year-old mother of one said in the video that she never wanted to marry a singer. Simi said she didn't know Adekunle Gold was a musician then. According to her, he was a fan and a Photoshop guru who sent her messages on Facebook. She went ahead to say she met him as a graphics designer and had no idea "he was singing".
"When I first met my husband, I did not know he was singing. Because I already said I cannot marry a singer. He used to do this King of Photoshop. I have never heard him sing up till that time. I think he was even a fan," she added.
"He had sent me a message on Facebook. I never saw it. I still have not relied. I sensed that it was him that would be good for me."
It was revealed that the duo dated for five years before getting married. They have always kept their relationship low-key at the time to avoid the scrutiny of society.
Simi and Adekunle got married on January 9, 2019. They have a daughter, Adejare.
