U.S. authorities have arrested the son of a former president of the West African country of Guinea and his wife, over allegedly enslaving a countrywoman in their Texas home.
Mohamed and Denise Cros-Toure, were being held in a federal detention facility on Friday, while awaiting a probable cause hearing billed for Monday in Fort Worth on a forced labour charge.
Toure’s attorney, Brady Wyatt, told The Associated Press that his client is the son of late Guinean President Ahmed Sekou Toure, who helped lead Guinea to independence from French rule in 1958. Sekou Toure was the country’s first president, a role he held until his death in 1984.
Brazilian President Temer, In Fresh New Corruption Allegations
Brazilian President Michel Temer denied on Friday any wrongdoing following a newspaper report that police are investigating whether he laundered bribes through real estate transactions.
Federal police suspect that Temer laundered 2 million reais ($577,250) through real estate purchases and reforms made by family members, the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper reported in its Friday edition, without citing its sources.
Police did not respond to requests for confirmation.

It will not be the full-blown state visit Mr Trump was promised when Prime Minister Theresa May visited the White House in January last year.
