The Russia Federation has today Monday, 25th Sept. 2023 has placed the President of the International Criminal Court, ICC, President, Piotr Hofmanski, on his wanted list. As captured on the Russian Federation database, “Hofmanski Piotr Jozef, Polish, Wanted under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation”. Although, the Russian government did not tell the world any allegation that has qualified the ICC president to be on it’s wanted list.

Recall in March, 2023 following the Russian-Ukraine war, ICC announced an arrest warrant for the Russian president, Vladmir Putin accusing him of war crime for unlawfully deporting Ukrainian children.

Similarly, The ICC extended the warrant to include Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s presidential commissioner for children’s rights, on similar charges.

Earlier, Russia had issued an arrest warrants against the ICC prosecutor Karim Khan and several judges.

Being a non-member of the ICC charter, Russia has insisted that the warrant of arrest against Putin is “void”.

The ICC has in September, opened a field office in Ukraine, as part of efforts to hold Russian forces accountable for Moscow’s offensive in the Western-backed country.
