There is rising tension in Epe area of Lagos State following the early morning raid of Government Model Secondary School, Igbonla by about ten unknown gunmen. The gunmen who stormed the school in early hours reportedly abducted four students.
Some social media reports claimed that the abductors had earlier intimated the school authorities of their planned attack.
As at the time of filing this report, Vigil360 could not confirm whether the school reported the threat to security agencies.
It could be recalled that some gunmen had in October, 2016 attacked the school and kidnapped students and teachers; a development which generated widespread reaction leading to the intervention of members of the House of Representatives.
