President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the Thursday armed robbery attacks in Offa, Kwara state and condoled with families that lost their loved ones during the attack. The President's message was posted on Twitter on Saturday via the Presidency handle @NGRpresident. In the message, the President disclosed that some of the attackers had been arrested by the Police and would soon be arraigned in court.

“We sympathize with the families of victims, residents of Offa, and the Government & people of Kwara State, on Thursday’s violent robbery attack. @PoliceNG have arrested a number of suspects & deployed extra personnel to the town, to assist in investigations and beef up security.’’


The Kwara state Command had disclosed on Saturday that seven suspects in connection with the armed robbery attack had been arrested assuring that the remaining suspects would soon be apprehended.


The Commissioner of Police, Mr Lawan Ado, in a statement issued to newsmen also said seven "operational’’ vehicles abandoned by the robbers while attempting to escape arrest had also been recovered by the police. (NAN)
