Gunmen Attack Labaran Maku’s Residence In Nasarawa State 

Suspected armed kidnappers on Saturday night, invaded the residence of a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, and left three security guards brutally injured. The invaders, who shot sporadically into the air, forced their way into Maku’s residence in Ola, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State about 7.50 pm, and four security personnel. One of the injured security personnel told NAN on Sunday that the criminals invaded the residence at about 7:50 p.m.

Amnesty To Bandits: Edwin Clark Berates Extension To Bandits, Cautions Gumi, Yerima

The leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark has stated that it was criminal equating the ongoing amnesty program in the South-South region with the calls for amnesty for bandits and terrorists in the Northern region. Nigerian elder statesman, addressing reporters on Wednesday in Abuja said, “My first reaction to those who compare the murderous blood sucking bandits from the northern part of the country with the legitimate agitators from the Niger Delta, is that of pity at their ignorance on national affairs and myopicism”.

FEMA Warns Abuja Residents Of Heavy Downpour On Sunday

The FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through its spokesperson, Nkechi Isa, called on all Abuja residents to be on alert on Sunday (23rd July) for a heavy downpour, following the Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET) earlier speculation of heavy rainfall and possible flashflood in Abuja and its neighboring states. “The Federal Capital Territory,(FCT) and States contiguous with it are expected to experience heavy to moderate rainfall tomorrow,” the FEMA image maker said.

Appeal Court Dismisses Justice Ugo’s Alleged Resignation

Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has today dismissed the allegation making round in social media space over resignation of its five-man member handling the presidential petition tribunal, Justice Boloukuoromo Ugo, as fake news and should be ignored. One of an official at the appeal court who did not want his name to be mentioned described the rumour of the resignation as “fake news”, insisting that it was the handiwork of “evil rumour mongers,” saying such thing did not happened.
