The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Welfare Commission, NPWC, Reverend Yakubu Pam, has called on Nigerian politicians in the interest of National cohesion and to support the government, has called on politicians to shun all narratives that are divisive in the country. The clergy made this call during weekend in Abuja, the federal capital while addressing newsmen on assessment of the Tinubu’s 100 days in office.
The Reverend father applauded the Tinubu's administration for carefully diffusing the campaign tensions amongst the Nigerians especially the fear that came with the Muslim-Muslim ticket campaign mantra.
The clergy man revealed that he was at the state house last Friday on a courtesy visit to the president and to also express appreciation to the government for its unwavering support towards the commission which is Nigeria’s sole facilitator of Christian pilgrimage.
Pam who is also the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), North Central Zone, comprising of Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Niger, Kogi, Kwara state and FCT, caution politicians against aggressive use of disinformation and misinformation against Nigeria’s political leadership as a potential threat against democracy, unity and peace of the country at large.
The reverend father acknowledged that Nigeria at present time as we faces numerous challenges in its bid towards actualising genuine populist developmental goals of the current administration, calling that Nigeria’s politicians and their supporters must rise above dangerous propaganda and the dissemination of mischievous information that threaten national cohesion, unity, peace, and progress of our motherland.
