Following the backlash that greeted the recent review of the secondary school curriculum, resulting in the collapse of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) and Islamic Religious Knowledge to form National Values, the Federal Government has directed the Nigerian Educational Research Development Council (NERDC) to revert to status quo and immediately restore CRK and IRK as separate subjects.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may have perfected plans to expel the ousted National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff and some members of his National Executive Committee especially the former National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, the Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, and the acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bernard Mikko for the role they played in the leadership crisis that rocked the party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed plans to display the voter register for persons captured in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) from July 24 to 28. The Commission's Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi stated this on Friday in an interview with NAN.

Yesterday, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his call for immediate restructuring of the country, saying those against restructuring of the country are enemies of the people.  The former Vice President stated this while making a presentation at a programme organized by the Senior Staff Club, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has directed state workers without Permanent Voters Card to be captured in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) or forfeit their August Monthly salaries. The Governor issued the directive in a circular released on July 11, 2017 by the Head of Service, Barr. Harry Udo.
