The Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun has called on all party members in the state especially those seeking elective positions not to defect to other political parties after the conduct of primaries in order for the party to remain united and in power. Governor Amosun who stated this at a meeting with members of his party at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat, Abeokuta said those who lose primaries should quickly 'fall in line' so that the party can remain as one ahead of the elections.

Vice president Prof. Yomi Osinbajo on Sunday made an unexpected stopover to Oando Filling Station at Lekki area of Lagos State on Christmas Eve. He also stopped at Hayden Petrol Station on the Island. The Nigerian Army on Monday disclosed that its troops in Borno state had killed three Boko Haram insurgents and recovered 200 cattle in Borno. The disclosure was made by Brig.-Gen. Sani Kukasheka, the Director of Army Public Relations, in a statement in Maiduguri. Kukasheka said that the insurgents had earlier carted away 200 cattle rustled at Makandari village of Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno.
