The Senate Committee mandated to investigate the sacked Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Maina has accused the Economic and Financial Crime Commission of sharing the over 222 recovered houses among officials of the Commission. The Chairman of the Federal Establishment Committee, Sen. Emmanuel Paulker made the disclosure under order 42 and 43 of the Senate rule during Thursday's plenary.

The usually sleepy Asokoro neighbourhood in Abuja was jolted Tuesday morning on November 21, after a team of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and their Nigeria Police counterparts attempted to arrest a former Director General of the State Security Services (SSS), Mr. Ita Ekpeyong.

Mike Ejiofor, a former Director of the Department of State Services says the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) lacks the power to investigate or arrest former Director Generals of the DSS especially on how operational funds were spent. Ejiofor stated this on Tuesday while reacting to failed attempt by operatives of the EFCC to arrest the former Director General of the DSS, Ita Ekpenyong.
