Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one of the aspirants who sought to fly the party's flag in the forthcoming Ekiti state governorship election, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has dumped the party after failing to clinch the ticket.

Adeyeye who came second in the primary polled only 771 votes while the incumbent Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Kolapo Olusola emerged winner of the primary.

Adeyeye explained that the reason for his departure was because he cannot with the governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, whom he alleged imposed his deputy as the party’s candidate in the July 14 governorship election.

He made this position known while addressing his teeming followers on Thursday at his campaign office. He however said he was yet to decide on what platform to realize his political ambition of becoming the governor of the state.
