FG Inaugurates TCN Board Of Directors

The Federal Government (FG) has inaugurated a 14-man Board of Directors for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) seven years after the last board was dissolved in July 2015 shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office. Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu stated that the board members were selected based on their expertise, competence, and wealth of experience.


He said, “Your tenure as directors will be measured by stakeholders on the impact and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that you have significantly improved over the next year.

“It is pertinent to apprise you of the very important job of TCN in the delivery of adequate and reliable electricity to Nigerians and the Nigerian economy.

“TCN is the institution responsible for transporting wholesale energy from the off-grid power plant spread across the country to electricity distribution companies”.

Members of the Board are Mr. Bukar Buni as Board Chairman; Managing Director of TCN, Engr. Sule Abdulaziz; Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Alex Okoh; representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Aisha Omar and Ministry of Power, Emmanuel Nosike.

Others are Imamudeen Talba (North East), Nsima Ekere (South-South), Ali Haruna (North West), Engr. Mohammed Wazaram (North East), Abdulkarim Disu (South West), Engr. Gazali Tukur (North West), Osagie Ediale (South-South), Mrs. Apolonia Okigbo (South East), and Clement Omeizabaiye (North Central).
