Emerging reports suggest that the barrage of media attacks on the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki by Saharareporters, an online news platform may not be unconnected with the refusal by Saraki to accede to monetary demands by Omoyele Sowore, the owner of Saharareporters.
According to a report posted by Sen. Dino Melaye on his verified Facebook page, one Bamikole Omisore an aide to the Senate President described Sowore as a "thief and blackmailer who allegedly tried to extort his principal, Bukola Saraki, using his case at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT)".
Omisore said the revelation became necessary following a recent publication by Sharareporters claiming that his boss paid the sum of $2 million to secure his discharge and acquittal from the CCT.
Omisore described Sowore as a fraudster who usually dances to the tune of his pay masters, stressing that he was only cashing in on the gullibility of some Nigerians to sell his propaganda. He called on him to make public any evidence that the CCT ruling was bought by the Senate President.
Saharareporters had earlier reported that the Senate President had bribed the Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Umar. The report claimed that Saraki used fronts such as the former Governor of Bauch state, Isa Yuguda and the head of his legal team, Kanu Agabi, SAN who had employed Mr Umar in his law Chamber before rising to his present position as CCT Chairman.
