Emerging reports suggest that President Muhammadu Buhari may have ordered his Ministers and close aides to recognize and submit

to the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo or risk being fired. The directive became necessary following unconfirmed reports that some Ministers and Aides were bypassing the Acting President and taking files to London for the President's approval.

According to the Nation Newspaper, President Buhari was "merely resisting attempts by some government officials, including Ministers to undermine Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and create a divided government". The report further claims that the President who is currently on follow-up medical checkup has therefore directed the affected officials to return to Nigeria and meet the Acting President since he does not want to create confusion in the polity.

The report which failed to reveal the identities of the officials however concluded that the officials are now cooperating with the Acting President and trying to "curry his favour".
