Emerging reports indicate that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has just received signatures from purported electorates in Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State, seeking the recall of Sen. Dino Melaye from the National Assembly.

A source at the INEC Headquarters, Maitama Abuja stated that the signatures of the electorates were submitted to the Commission in about 6 bags. He also hinted that the number of electorates who indicated interest to recall Sen. Melaye represented over 52.3 percent of the total voters that participated in the election that led to the emergence of Dino Melaye as Senator representing Kogi west.

When contacted by Vigil360, Sen. Melaye described the move as laughable and stressed that it has failed on arrival. He accused the Kogi state governor, Yahya Bello and Sen. Smart Adeyemi of embarking on an illegal process aimed at seeking his recall because he has refused to be cowed. He described the signatures submitted to INEC as forged document and vowed to challenge them in court at the appropriate time.

Sen. Dino who also maintained that he will continue to fight on the side of the masses called on Gov. Bello to go pay workers their monthly salary.
