President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the National Assembly for a budget presentation for the year 2023 physical year which was pegged at N19.76 trillion as the appropriation Bill. The gathering taking place at the improvised National Assembly complex in a combined session by the lawmakers as Buhari is presenting this Budget as his last as his tenure of office is winding down soon. The President arrived at the hallowed chamber around 10:05 am flanked in the company of his aides and security where the program was kick-started by the saying of the National Anthem.
The Reps’ improvised chamber Room 0.28 New Building with a capacity of 118 seats, designed with an expanded upper deck provision in Room 231 has a capacity of 236 seats. The rooms are connected audio-visually with large screens with modern art of equipment for communication.
A strict protocol was ensured before personalities were cleared into the building under tight security as the whole ‘who is who in Nigeria including journalists were there to grace the event.
Meanwhile, other staff members, who are not involved in the planning and logistics, banks, and other businesses in the complex, were directed to shut down all shops for security reasons during the president’s visit
