President of the Nigeria Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, on Monday, said the current security challenge confronting the country requires all citizens to work together.  He made the call while speaking at an interactive session with Senate Press Corps in Abuja. The chief lawmaker said it was not the time for ‘buck-passing’ as the government was assiduously working to take care of security challenges.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Akwa ibom Northwest Senatorial District, Essien Udim Federal constituency and the Essien Udim state Assembly in the supplementary election held on Saturday. The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) returning officer for the Senatorial district, Prof. Robert Dode declared this today returning Mr Christopher Ekpenyoung of the PDP as a duly elected winner of the supplementary election.
