The Kebbi State executives of Kwankwasiyya movement under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.  The Youth leader of the movement, Mohammed I. Anaruwa Kele, who spoke on behalf of the defectors in Birnin Kebbi, said the decision to dump their former party was based on unflinching loyalty to the former chairman of the Kwankwasiya movement, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi who dumped the PDP last week for the ruling APC.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday said the crisis rocking the party in Edo will end when the nomination for the governorship candidate is done by the party. Speaking to newsmen in Benin, Ize-Iyamu said whoever would emerge as a party’s candidate for the forthcoming governorship election would be given the necessary support.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has assured that the Southwest geopolitical zone has no plans to secede from Nigeria in the heat of the controversy generated by the launch of Western Nigeria Security Network code-named Operation Amotekun. According to Dailypost, Dr. Fayemi said the Southwest region remains part of Nigeria, will continue to be part of Nigeria and remain committed to a united and indivisible Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately declare vacant the seats of its members in the Imo state House of Assembly that defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress and conduct fresh elections in the affected local government.  The party made the call on Wednesday in a press conference held in Abuja.

The newly elected Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on Tuesday said he would work assiduously to resolve all issues among the governors. He stated this on Monday in an interview with newsmen in Abuja. He explained that his regime would bring all the governors on board to work together and ensure peaceful coexistence while keeping the party’s structures activated.

The Imo state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Service Defence Corps, NSCDC, Raji Ibrahim, on Monday said the Corps has perfected plans to query one of his personnel, who allegedly shot dead a 2019 Action Alliance, AA, senatorial candidate, Ndubuisi Emenike, in Imo state. The NSCDC state commandant, Ibrahim, was reacting to the incident that triggered a public outcry.
