About 469 support groups have threatened to withdraw their support for Atiku ahead of 2019 over neglect by Atiku Presidential Campaign Office (APCO).
The threat was issued when the group under the coalition of APCO accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership of sabotaging their own candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, this they describe was fashioned in a manner that was meted on former President Jonathan during 2015 general election.
The threat was contained in a statement presented by Amb. Enobong Inyang AKA Don P. who was the convener of the group on Wednesday at Abuja APCO office. Don P. threatened to withdraw their support for Atiku should the PDP fail to address their grievances.
The group revealed Atiku may lose his election bid if the leadership of PDP continued to play the way they are.
The APCO leadership lamented there is lackadaisical attitude coming from major stakeholders of the PDP and neglect over their effort of trying to sell Atiku to Nigerian electorates despite the resources spend in the last one year.
The group disclosed they have been using their personal resources in mobilizing support for Atiku across the 36 states of the federation. Regrettably, in all this, there was no any form of recognition accorded to them either kind or cash from the PDP major stakeholders.
The group added prior to Port Harcourt presidential primaries APCO had 860 support groups, subsequently, the group dwindled down to 469 groups and will continue to reduce if care is not taken. this was submitted to the APCO group, yet their effort did not receive any attention so far.
