The Presidency has debunked media reports that the President, Muhammadu Buhari would return to the country within two weeks. The clarification is coming after the Governor of Imo state Rochas Okorocha announced that the President may return back to the country in two weeks to resume his official duties. Okorocha made the statement after leading some All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors and some party stakeholders to visit the President in London.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina who spoke on the matter to reporters in Abuja, posited that the letter written to the National Assembly stated explicitly that the duration of the President's stay will be determined by his doctors. He wondered why people were preempting doctors who are yet to give the President a clean bill of health.
“The President made it clear in his letter to the National Assembly that the duration of his stay in London would be determined by his doctor. That has not changed. He must get a clean bill of health before he returns”
