Report reaching vigil360 has it that Nasarawa United player Chieme Martins has reportedly died after he slumped during a Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match between Nasarawa United and Kastina United. The report has it that the player slump at the home ground of Nasarawa United. A team of medical personnel tried to revive Martins but to no avail. he was subsequently rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Chairman Kastina Utd, Prince Abdusamad in his words stated: "There was no collision. Martins just fell on the ground while standing alone." Though the match ended 3-0 in favour of Nasarawa Utd, a video of his teammates crying surfaced on the social media after they were informed of his sudden demise.
