The form of Nigeria international goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi at his Premier South Africa League side (PSL) Chippa United suggest he is back to his best after struggling at the start of the season.

31 year old Akpeyi has kept goal in 19 league games this season and despite stiff competition for the number one spot at the club, the Nigeria international has emerged as the first choice goalkeeper.

Akpeyi was voted Man of the Match in their wins over Free State Stars ‎and Mamelodi Sundowns, games they won 1-0 and 2-0 respectively before they were beaten 3-0 by Kaizer Chiefs in their last league game.

A sign of how well he has returned to his best can also be illustrated with the fact that he has kept three clean sheets in his last four games after struggling to keep any in 8 games towards the end of the year.

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr will be hoping he stays injury free and also keep his form before the start of camping for the World Cup in Russia later in the year.
