NCC Lifts Ban On Unsolicited Text Messaging

The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced the temporary suspension of the Do-Not-Disturb facility on mobile networks. NCC premised the decision to enable mobile operators to disseminate information on the 2019 General Elections.

Facebook Chief Executive, Mark Zuckerberg is set to unify the messaging services of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to incorporate end-to-end encryptions into the apps for better privacy and security. According to New York Times, the apps will continue to operate separately, however, the technical infrastructure will be integrated.

The Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) has revealed that internet users increased marginally to more than 111.6 million in December 2018. The NCC made this known on Monday in its Monthly Internet Subscribers Data for December posted on its website.
