The Moto Z3 Play is scheduled to launch on June 6. There are reports the third generation Z series will be the last in the modular series. Nevertheless, that shouldn’t dampen the excitement for the upcoming device(s).

New images have surfaced from XDA-Developers and they show the Moto Z3 Play along with a 5G Moto Mod. Some of the specs have also been confirmed.

A 5G Moto Mod would supply 5G cellular connectivity to the smartphone, delivering higher speed downloads and uploads in accordance with the new standard. Presumably, the Z3 Play would feature an internal cellular modem for 4G connectivity by default.

A United States federal court jury has instructed Samsung to pay Apple $533 million compensation for replication iPhone design features in a patent case. Samsung said it is considering appealing against the Jury award. The case began seven years ago. Apple had been seeking a billion Dollars in damages saying they wanted to defend the work and creativity of their employees.

Uber will be open its new Advanced Technology Centre in Paris, with focus on AI and its Uber Elevate program, the company announced Thursday. The plan is to send flying taxis soaring over cities, but building them will be orders of magnitude harder than anything it has ever done. The research center, which will be Uber's first outside North America, will open this fall and see a €20 million ($23.5 million) investment over the next five years.

Popular video game critic and vlogger John Bain, has died at the age of 33. The game critic, who was better known under his online aliases: TotalBiscuit and CynicalBrit, was best recognized for the YouTube videos in which he reviewed and discussed games. On the same channel, he had documented his long battle with cancer. He retired from gaming criticism earlier this year when he announced that treatment was no longer effective.

Authorities in the United States said they broke up a potential digital attack called VPNFilter that affected half a million internet routers and could have caused widespread havoc in Ukraine. The US Justice Department said this was the most recent attack programmed by the Sofacy Group, the Russian hackers — also known as Fancy Bear — are suspected of being behind cyber attacks on several governments, international agencies and infrastructure providers.

HTC’s flagship smartphones always feature some of the highest-end specs available in the tech market. The U11 and U11 Plus came with the latest Qualcomm processors, killer camera technology, and plenty of “extra” features like expandable memory and IP ratings. So it should not come as a surprise that the new HTC U12 Plus spec sheet is right in line with most other high-end phones of 2018.

Though the U12 Plus has an all-glass design, HTC decided against including wireless charging support. The company said it omitted wireless charging so it could have more room to fit in a bigger 3,500mAh battery.
