Nigeria is set to host Indo-Africa ICT Expo 2018 on the 22 and 23 May 2018 in Lagos State. The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Nagabhushna Reddy disclosed this in a joint press briefing with the Nigerian Minister of Communications, Dr. Adebayo Shittu, in Abuja.
The Expo is aimed at forging closer cooperation between India and Africa and accelerating growth through Information and Communications Technology, ICT.
Mr. Reddy said the expo, which is the fourth edition, is a reflective of India’s commitment to engage with African countries to promote the use of ICT in national economic development.
“Information Technology, IT, and Telecom form the backbone for the growth of any country.” Reddy said.
Indo-Africa ICT Expo is also a platform to build synergy among India and African countries to showcase innovative and diversified products and services and to bring together thought leaders across the entire value chain to discuss solutions, regulatory issues as well as business.
Mr. Reddy disclosed that the expo will offer huge opportunities for local entrepreneurs and start-ups to pitch their solutions and products to over fifty Indian companies.
The High Commissioner disclosed that the choice of Lagos for the event for a second time is in recognition of the vast potential that exists in Nigeria and also of its importance as gateway to West Africa and other parts of Africa.
On his part, the Nigerian Minister of Communications, Dr. Shittu noted that the two day event will enable Nigeria’s start ups, entrepreneurs and businesses to form partnerships with their foreign counterparts.
Dr. Shittu said the expo will create the opportunity for young Nigerians to showcase their innovative creations for public and commercial opportunities.

The 4th edition Indo-Africa ICT Expo 2018 which will bring together over three hundred companies and delegates from India and Africa and attract over three thousand visitors to the exhibition, is part of Indian’s commitment to engage African countries to promote use of ICT’S in national development.
