President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate seeking confirmation of the appointment of four commissioners for the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The President also sought the Senate’s confirmation for the appointment of Executive Directors of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
The President’s request was contained in three letters which were read at the plenary on Wednesday by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Nominees for NERC commissioners are Dr Yusuf Ali (North-Central), Mr. Nathan Shetty (North-East), Engr. Chidi Ike (South-East) and Mr. Dare Apeneye (South-South).
In a separate letter, nominees for confirmation as Executive Directors of NMDPRA are Dr. Mustapha Lawade, Dr. Zainab Gobir, Francis Alabi Ogali, Monsuru Kulia, and Bashiru Sadiq.
Mrs. Emili Chidinma Osuji’s name was also submitted to the Senate for confirmation as the Executive Director of NDIC.
