The Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the understudy of conversion of some Industrial Development Centres to industrial clusters.

Abubakar stated this in a statement issued by Mr Olujimi Oyetomi, the Deputy Director, Press in the ministry on Monday in Abuja.

The MoU was signed between the ministry and Messrs Logic Triangle Ltd.

The minister of state said the MoU to study the viability of the centers was done at the instance of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria’s (SMEDAN) Director-General, Alhaji Umar Dikko.

According to her, the coordinator of the study is Logic Triangle Ltd. and they are to ensure that the Industrial Development Centres are able to graduate to clusters.

“The study has started and the Director of Logic Triangle Ltd., Mr Mustapha Abba has sought the cooperation of government to have more resources deployed.

“This is to ensure that his organisation does a quality job.

“The minister also gave the study team a timeline of six months, so the meeting will be reconvened and the MoU reviewed in six months,’’ Abubakar said.

The minister of state also congratulated SMEDAN and Logic Triangle Ltd. for their tenacity for coming up with.
