Film and TV production can resume in California, Los Angeles as early as June 12, 2020, with full adherence to safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on production sets, state health officials said. Film production in the state, and around the world was brought to a halt in March in a bid to curb the global pandemic.

According to Reuters, film producers must get approval from the California Department of Health before resuming on set.

The resumption of TV production was approved after an extensive review of safety guidelines to be adopted upon return on sets by a group of Hollywood task force.

The task force responsible for developing the guidelines includes AT&T Inc's Warner Bros, Walt Disney Co, Netflix Inc, Comcast Corp's NBCUniversal as well as unions including SAG-AFTRA, IATSE and Directors Guild of America.

Hollywood film set and production workers must upon return adhere to the guidelines such as daily coronavirus tests as well as receive clearance from the Health Department of the state.
