The immediate past president of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Alain Marcel de Souza was reported dead on Tuesday in Paris after suffering a heart attack. His death has also been confirmed by a staff of the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja.

Nigerian Migrants Bombed in Libya Were Returning Home- Dabiri-Erewa
According to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Executive Chairperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), nine Nigerians were killed in an airstrike on a migrants’ camp in Tripoli, the capital of Libya. At least 44 people were killed while as many as 130 sustained various injuries in the incident which happened on Tuesday, 2nd July 2019.
South Africa’s Jacob Zuma Faces Corruption Inquiry
Former South African President, Jacob Zuma on Monday told a judicial inquiry investigating him on corruption allegations that he is a victim of foreign intelligence plot aimed at ousting him from power.
Zuma who was ousted by the African National Congress (ANC) in 2018 was alleged to have knowingly presided over a corrupt government and illegally granting public contracts to a family of Indian businessmen, the Gupta.
