Lebanon's military on Sunday announced a ceasefire in an ongoing offensive against ISIS at the country's northeast border with Syria. The Military which made the announcement in a statement issued on Sunday stated that the ceasefire took effect from 7am on Sunday. The statement added that the move was aimed at facilitating the release of their soldiers currently in ISIS captivity.

At least 32 people were killed Friday when clashes broke out in northern India after a court convicted a controversial religious leader of raping two of his followers, sparking fury among tens of thousands of supporters who had gathered for the verdict. Authorities rushed hundreds of troops to the city of Panchkula after followers of guru Ram Rahim Singh torched cars went on a rampage throwing rocks and attacking television vans and setting fire to dozens of private vehicles.

South Korea has pledged commitment to assist Nigeria accelerate implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan in order to significantly grow the economy. Thailand's former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has fled the country as a court was about to deliver a verdict in a two-year trial over agricultural subsidies, a source close to her family says. The source declined to say where she had gone, but Thailand's top immigration official said there were no records of Yingluck having left through proper channels.
